Local Support Services for Kendall County Families

These public and community organisations can help with benefits, public programs and services outside our non-medical home care scope. Verify eligibility, availability and current contact details directly with each one.

State and regional starting points

  • Texas Health and Human Services operates the statewide entry point for long-term care programs, licensure information and provider search tools.
  • Area Agency on Aging serving the Alamo region provides benefits counselling, caregiver support and information and referral services for older adults and their families.
  • Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) is the front door for information about long-term services and supports in Texas.
  • Texas Long-Term Care Ombudsman advocates for residents of nursing facilities and assisted living communities, useful if you are also evaluating a move.
  • Eldercare Locator, a federal service, connects families to local aging services by ZIP code.

Benefits and payment questions

Questions about Medicare coverage, Medicaid long-term care eligibility, VA Aid and Attendance, or long-term care insurance claims should go to the relevant program or a benefits counsellor, not to a care provider. We can tell you what our service is; we cannot determine your eligibility for anything.

Our page on Medicare and home care explains the general distinction between skilled home health and non-medical care, which is where most confusion starts.

Locally in Boerne

Practical support in a town this size often comes from places that are not care organisations at all: churches with visitation ministries, the Patrick Heath Public Library, the Boerne Senior Center, neighbourhood associations, and the volunteer transport networks that quietly exist in most Hill Country communities.

If you are new to arranging care for a parent here, calling two or three of these before calling any provider is usually time well spent.

Our home care scope

We provide non-medical in-home care directly to families in Boerne and surrounding communities. Care requests submitted here go to our care team for service and scheduling follow-up.

Questions families ask

Do you place people in assisted living or nursing homes?

No. We provide non-medical in-home care only. For facility placement, the organisations above and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman program are more appropriate starting points.

Can you tell me if my parent qualifies for Medicaid?

No. Eligibility determinations are made by Texas Health and Human Services. A benefits counsellor through the Area Agency on Aging can help you work through the process.

Still need help working out where to begin?

Describe the care situation and we will explain whether our non-medical in-home services fit your family's needs.

Prefer to talk it through first? Call 830-241-2286. No obligation, and no pressure to decide on the call.
